Your Babys Growth and Development : Week - 3 & Week - 4 : Month - 10
Your baby gets bigger and stronger every week. Here's what to expect in Week - 3 & Week - 4 of Month - 10
Week 3 & 4
This time of the month, your baby might tend to sleep less and actively discover new ways to move around the house. He’s likely taking few steps by holding the furniture or even tries some wobbly unassisted steps on his own. By the end of tenth month, your baby can follow single step commands like Take that doll, Eat your food etc. Your baby tries to communicate using gibberish words and pointing out at things during this month.
Let the Baby Sleep Easy!
Training your baby for 8-9 hours sleep pattern throughout the night is a crucial step in the baby’s development. Most children at the end of 10th month will experience undisturbed sleep for over 7 hours but some may not have proper sleep. With the below ‘sleep through the night’ strategies, you can put an end to those 2 am wake up calls.
- Dim the lights: Although the baby’s room need light, it is better to use dimmers. During day, keep the house bright and as the evening approaches, lower the lights even if the baby is not sleeping. This will reinforce the child to sleep in the night.
- Avoid Caffeine If you are still breastfeeding, it is necessary to cut the caffeinated drinks as it turns up in the breast milk. According to researchers, a large cup of coffee will provide enough caffeine to disrupt the child’s sleep pattern and cause issues.
- Co-sleeping If your baby cries a lot, fussy or demanding then try co-sleeping. You can lie next to the baby and soothe him to sleep but however as days go by, it is necessary to slowly stop the habit. Once the baby falls asleep, you can move him to the crib.
