Week 3 & 4

During this time, your baby will be able to comprehend the basic sounds of their mother language and may start saying ‘ma’ or ‘pa’. However, it is too early for her to associate these sounds with you and your spouse. At this time, some babies also develop the ability to roll over.

Getting The Baby Used To The NannyHire the nanny well in advance to your joining time and get yourself and the baby used to the nanny’s presence and support. Slowly allow the nanny to play with the baby, hold him and change his diapers in your presence. This way, your baby gets used to her touch and presence and would be open to her in your absence as well.

Managing TimeFor the first few months, negotiate with your organization for flexible working hours. This will allow you to gain a grip on your work and also strike a balance at home. Make good use of to-do lists both at work and at home. This will give you a sense of direction in planning the day ahead and helping you get over stress.

GroomingThere is still some time before your shed the baby pounds and gain your original shape. Until then, don’t let your confidence plummet. Before you join work, pamper yourself at the salon. A new haircut could give you a new look and confidence. Take the help of your fashionista friend in building your office wardrobe. It is not only your pregnancy bump that was beautiful. Take pride in your post delivery body. This is the first step towards gaining confidence and looking beautiful.

Do not allow guilt to get the better of you. Remember that there is no such thing as ‘perfect mother’ and your love for your baby cannot be measured with the yardstick of the time you spend with him or her. It is good to benefit from the social benefits that your career provides you. Your child will grow up and take pride in your decisions.
