LifeCell International, India’s first and largest stem cell company in association with Cloudnine organized ‘Great Expectations 2013’, a first of its kind two day carnival for expectant mothers in Bangalore. Aimed at making motherhood a more joyous and memorable experience, LifeCell’s Great Expectations saw a unique fashion show for pregnant women and a series of interactive and informative workshops and games.
Pregnancy is an exciting time in every woman’s life and at the same time it can be unnerving with anxieties about dos and don’ts during the phase and nurturing of the newborn, post delivery. LifeCell’s Great Expectations 2013 put this information overload into greater perspective, and gave women a chance to truly celebrate one of the most special phases of their life. The two day action packed extravaganza saw a series of workshops led by leading experts from the city on themes such as pregnancy and newborn care, nutrition and fashion. The aim of these sessions was to provide facts and bust myths on topics such as caesarian vs. normal deliveries, internet use to learn about child birth and pregnancy, right eating habits, skin care, tips on styling and dressing techniques etc.
The carnival concluded with an exciting fashion show cum beauty pageant judged by an eminent panel including Shrutha Keerthi, Manjul Gupta, Rachna Singh, Deepti Mohan. Over 40 pregnant women took center stage and flaunted their baby bumps in outfits exclusively designed for the event by the famous fashion brand Chola. The participants were evaluated on various parameters such as most beautiful skin, hair, beautiful walk and most adorable baby bump. To be mommy, Soumya emerged as the winner of the fashion show with to-be- mommies Payal and Monal bagging the position of the first and second runners up respectively. They were all awarded gift hampers worth one and a half lakhs and received a standing ovation from both spectators & judges.
