LifeCell announces India’s first Dual Storage Service with the launch of LifeCell Stem Cell City in Gurgaon
Stem cells can now be stored simultaneously at LifeCell’s two geographically distant storage facilities in Chennai and Gurgaon (Manesar) ensuring the highest standards of security

LifeCell International, India’s largest and most recommended stem cell storage company, today announced the launch of India’s first Dual Storage service, a unique initiative made possible with the inauguration of its new advanced stem cell center in Gurgaon (Manesar) near New Delhi. LifeCell’s Dual Storage service allows customers to simultaneously store stem cells in two geographically distant locations, ensuring maximum safety and complete protection against unforeseen events arising due to natural calamities. This service offers added reassurance to the clients that nothing is left to chance when it comes to preserving the precious stem cells. With the launch of the Dual Storage service, the collected stem cells will be simultaneously stored at the existing center in Chennai and at the brand new advanced stem cell center in Gurgaon (Manesar). The Dual Storage service will be available for LifeCell’s BabyCord service for umbilical cord stem cell banking and LifeCell Femme for menstrual blood stem cell banking. LifeCell’s tie-up with Sequel Logistics for sample movement through air cargo will ensure same day relocation of the sample to the Gurgaon (Manesar) center after processing in Chennai.

Located at the Delhi- Mumbai corridor, 37 km from the New Delhi airport the facility spans over a 2 acre plot with a floor area of 65,000 sq. ft. The facility has an advanced technology infrastructure in-built with adequate safety measures for temperature control, monitoring and fire safety. It is manned with armed on-site security and online surveillance monitoring ensuring complete safety and security of the preserved stem cells.
Mr. Mayur Abhaya added “Realizing the growing demand for stem cell banking in India, we plan to invest an additional Rs. 20 crores in expanding the new Gurgaon (Manesar) facility over the next one year. We will deploy the latest technological advancements and bring it at par with our existing facility in Chennai. In the course of the next one year, the Gurgaon (Manesar) facility will be capable of storing and processing over one million stem cell samples. This added capacity will in-turn help create over 200 new job opportunities at the facility.”
