How does Umbilical Cord Blood Stem Cell Banking Work?

1. Baby's birth

The umbilical cord connecting the mother and the baby is clamped and cut at the time of birth.

2. Cord Blood Collection

The umbilical cord blood sample is then collected in a special collection kit.

3. Safe Transfer Of Sample

The special collection kit is then safely transported and delivered to the LifeCell laboratory.

4. Examination & Analysis

The sample is analysed and the stem cells are extracted from the rest of the sample.

5. Cryopreservation

The extracted stem cells are placed in special containers and preserved in a liquid nitrogen storage tank at -196 degree

6. Dual Site Storage

The stem cells are stored at dual sites, in Chennai as well as Gurugram, for backup.

7. Preservation Certificate

You will be entitled to a valid preservation certificate from LifeCell.
